Robert
Saperstein, Esq. has been practicing law since
1977 and is admitted in New York, Connecticut, Washington,
D.C., and the federal courts, including the United States Supreme
Court. He practices exclusively in the fields of labor and
education law.
Bob has litigated major cases involving administrators in New
York State, including:
- Longest 3020-a in history, which lasted eight years and resulted
in the complete vindication of the Principal
- First case to hold that an excessed Principal was entitled
to a newly created Assistant Principal position because the positions
were similar as a matter of law
- Only case in New York to ever hold that an administrator could
simultaneously be in both the teacher and administrator tenure
areas
He has handled numerous grievances, tenure litigation cases, 3020-a
disciplinary hearings, PERB Improper Practice charges and proceedings
before the Commissioner of Education.
Bob founded the first suburban dispute resolution center in the
United States, and received recognition from the United States
Attorney General, New York State Legislature, and Suffolk County
Legislature. Bob has been a consultant regarding dispute resolution
for the United States Department of Justice and the Ford Foundation.
